Anita A. Hymes, the author of Soulfulness of a Gullah Girl and Flowing Passion.
She is a native of John's Island, SC - a small Island off of the coast of Charleston, SC on the Sea Islands. Born and raised in a loving Christian family with a strong faith in God. She grew up in an environment rich with culture surrounded by the Gullah people and speaking the "Gullah" dialect.

A preacher's daughter and proud mother of a grown son who motivates and inspires her every day . . .

Graduate of Winthrop University.
Story-teller, Author, Poet, Founder of SIS (Sisters Inspiring Sisters), and owner of "A Gullah Girl Boutique".
These are only a few of her accomplishments.

She is a DOD (Department of Defense) employee where she serves and provides services for Military Families, Children, and Youth as a Program Director. With her job, she was blessed to have had the opportunity to live and travel throughout Asia and Europe. These exciting opportunities and diverse experiences were learning lessons that motivated her to write poems.

She gets her inspiration from faith and life experiences. Every poem that she writes stirs her passion and touches her soul. It broadens her creativity and imagination.
